About

Who Are We?
The Valley Skatepark Association (VSA) is a group of volunteers (some are skaters, some are parents of skaters, some just like the sport!) who are working to raise money in order to build a new, concrete skatepark in Lewiston, ID. We hold fundraisers such as yard sales, booths at local events, skate competitions, car washes, etc. If you have any other ideas, let us know as we are always trying to come up with fun and unique ways to raise money and awareness.
What are our goals?
In Lewiston we are hoping to raise at least $400,000 so we can work with a company who builds and designs skateparks like Dreamland or Grindline. These companies are known for thier consistency and creativity, and are sure to create a park that will last and never make us bored. A park that kids will grow into rather than grow out of. We want more than just a couple of ramps and a small rail! It is important to the VSA to provide children in the valley with a clean, safe, and fun place to skate, somewhere that parents won’t be afraid to drop their kids off, or will feel comfortable staying to watch. We are working closely with the Parks and Recreation Department of Lewiston to make this dream a reality!
What is our history in the LC Valley?
In the year 2000 a group of well meaning skateboarders and friends saw the dilapidated condition of our only skateboarding facility in downtown Lewiston and we approached that city with our plan to build a new state of the art facility. The city was interested in our proposal and set up a dedicated trust fund for the Lewiston skatepark but, the only problem was that we, a group of teenagers, were left with the task of raising $300,000. We managed to raise about $9,500 well short of our goal but a noteworthy amount. Now with many of us married and with children of our own we see an even greater need to get a quality, professionally built (Dreamland skateparks & Grindline skateparks) and safe recreational facilities in our town. Skateboarding is one of the fastest growing sports in the country with between 10 and 13 million skateboarders. If we have a proportionate amount of skaters in the LC Valley that means there are between 1600 and 2100 skaters with only one unfinished facility (Clarkston) and one outdated facility (Lewiston). This leaves us with no other option, we need to get these skateparks built and we need your support!
